Day 6 and 7 - Trip to Wudang Mountain

It took me 1min and 37sec to walk from the restroom back to the bus! I'll try my best to upload the video soon! Takes too long to load!

Moreover, here are other pictures that will support my claim that China is huge!

Next, we continued our journey to Wudang Mountain! It was a long and tiring 5 hour journey of bus ride. However, our efforts were all paid off when we saw how beautiful the Wudang Mountain is. It has really a spectacular view and some of the Chinese films were taken here! Some examples like the recent '新西游记'(Journey to the West) and Jackie Chan 'Karate Kid' was taken in Wudang Mountain! This shows the popularity of this mountain and I finally get to see and experience it real life!

There are many other interesting things in Wudang Mountain! One of it that caught my attention is this recycle bin!

These bins are translated directly from Chinese to English! Moreover, spelling mistakes can also be seen! In my opinion, I think that this is not a good sight. This displays the bad standard of China's English and it should not be displayed.(especially not at places of interests where tourists visit)

Next, we travel to many different temples in Wudang Mountain. It is interesting to see the different types of God that they worship as there are many images of different God. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to take pictures of them as it is said that taking pictures will bring bad luck to us! Our first station is the 太子坡 where movies and films were filmed!
The one in pink sweater is our tour guide explaining earnestly to us about Wudang Mountain!

To reach the temple, we were required to climb many flights of stairs! Some of the stairs are steep and most are not in proportion! As a result, many of us are panting heavily as we climb the stairs! I guess this is one of the reason why in the past there are lesser obese people compared to now. In Singapore, many of us are too lazy to climb the stairs or exercise. Some of the people who lives in the second storey even required the lift to bring them up. Thus, all these leads to obesity and many health related problems as people in Singapore focus more on academic rather than exercising and health. Hence, the government should make it a must for students to exercise at least 2 to 3 times a week in government school, polytechnic and university and not focus so much on academic. These can help in producing both physically and mentally fit students in future.
This is only one part of the many flights of stairs that we climbed and day 2 of Wudang Mountain trip is worse!!

We visited many different temples there. Here are some of the pictures.

From what I heard from the tour guide, most of these temples have a history of 500 to 600 years! And here I am able to touch the walls and experienced it real life! Sometimes, I really admire those people in the past, especially those who built the Great Wall of China, as they were really hardworking to build such tall and strong towels that can last for 600 years all by themselves without the help of any machines.

Here is the well in the olden days! First time seeing it in my 18 years of life!

The deep well!

We really do not wish to fall in this deep well for it will be very hard to get up!!

There are also many other unique things and one of them is this lion! Which of it do you think is a male and which is a female?
>
It relatively easy to guess! As you all know, for mammals, the female will usually be the one that give birth and show care for their new born babies! This is how noble motherly love is! Moreover, it reminded me of my parents that I had not seen for almost a week. I still have 4 more weeks to persevere on and I hope I am able to endure and score well for those module taken in this trip as I do not wish to fail my parents! Thus, to find male or female lion, you just have to see which lion has the pubs with them and that lion will be a female one while the other will be the male!

There many other beautiful pictures of Wudang Mountain taken by the 'professional' photographer(me)!
Here are some of those pictures! Enjoy!!!

Other pictures taken in day 6:
The river and bridge in the past

Other Pictures

Their 'scripture'?

The Furnace for burning papers!

This is another belief of China! Anyone that manage to toss the coin into the mouth or head of the dragon will be granted with a lot of wealth! I tried 4 times but none enter!! Wasted about S$1 which is able to buy me a nice meal here in China!!

Finally, after all these, we were able to check in to our 2-star hotel! At first, I felt rather upset as I got the highest floor without any friends there as there are only 2 units at the highest level!

However, the moment I went up, I was amazed by the beauty of nature! The unit that I lived in is magnificent with spectacular views of the nature!

However, after using the toilet, I sighed. I could only blame my luck. The drainage of the toilet is malfunctioned. The toilet was soon flooded by water as soon as I flush it. Soon, the smell of urea filled the entire room. It really stinks. We had no choice but to use our friend's toilet and to close the toilet door to prevent the smell from leaking into the room. Fortunately, this only last for 1 night and we are able to check out the next morning.

Day 2 in Wudang Mountain is worse compared to day 1! The weather in day 2 is much more cooler compared to day 1! I had to wear 3 layers of sweaters with shirt to keep myself warm but to no avail! The chilling wind is just so cold that it made me shiver! During that day, toilet had became my 'best friend', the most visited place, as it keeps the wind away and I can feel the warm there! Moreover, the stairs that we climbed in day 2 is much more and steeper compared to day 1!

The first station of day 2 was the mountain near our hotel! There, we get to see many other beautiful scenery of mountains and many other interesting things! One of it was the harmony lock! It is believed by the people there that once u wrote your wishes on the lock and lock your lock, your wish will come true! For myself, I do not really trust such stuff but I still bought 1 to wish my family to be able to live in harmony and healthily! My parents have really done alot for me throughout my life. Without them, this trip to Wuhan will not be possible for me. It's all thanks to them working so hard to earn money for me to travel overseas to enjoy myself, study and have fun. Since I am overseas now, I cannot do much for them but to buy this lock and wish that they are able to live in harmony and healthily! :)

The next station we visited requires us to take the cable car as it may take hours to climb! The cable car moving up the mountain quite steep! Fortunately, it only lasts for 8 minutes!

The Chinese also believed in many other things like touching this building will give wealth to them!

Personally, I do not believe in such things as wealth can only come through hardwork and not by touching the golden rod to be rich! However, I must learn to respect their culture and not to judge them but to listen to what they say and accept it even when I do not believe it.

Overall, Wudang Mountain trip is magnificent! It provides me with the opportunity to see and touch ancient stuffs that are mostly more than 500 years old! I felt honored to be able to be able to experience it real life! Furthermore, I get to know more about their culture and the different Gods that they worship. The reasons for them to have so many Gods could be that each God will bless them with a specific thing. For example, God of Wealth will bless them with wealth while other Gods will bless for other things! This could be one of the many reasons as this is the reason that I heard it in Singapore many years ago. Also, I learnt about many things which include both the Do's and the Dont's! For example, for guys crossing step to enter the door, they must always use their left leg for good luck purpose while female must use their right leg!

This trip to Wudang Mountain is totally worth it as I get to experience many things that I did not see or touch before! Such things I have seen it many times on television but not in real life and this trip provides me with the opportunity to experience it real life! It is an experience that I will never forget! :D
