Day 11 - Shopping in Town!

Hi guys!! Today, we get the opportunity to shop in town! Wonder how town look like? Will it be as advanced as Singapore Orchard Road? At first, I thought that there will not be much differences compared to the hostel area as the more popular area are in Shanghai and Beijing and Wuhan is just another province of China. Hence, I thought it will not be that advance. However, even before we reached, we can already see many high rise building few stops before town! Then, I heard one of my lecturer saying that the government is expanding other places of China as well so that everyone will not cramped in Beijing and Shanghai. After hearing this, I started to anticipate how the real town look like! And this is town we went! It really look like Suntec with that big TV screening advertisements!


Next, we are allowed to have our shopping all by ourselves until 3pm! We have exactly 3hours! I find poly is really all about freedom as we are able to do many things on our own and I prefer this kind of lifestyle instead of the secondary lifestyle where we must follow our teachers every we go! The shopping is huge that we do not know which way to go and where to shop! After walking for some time, we finally found something similar to Singapore, the CareFour!(recently moved out from Singapore) We decided to visit that place first to see if we have other necessities to buy back to our hostel! However, in the end, instead of buying necessities, we bought many biscuits back! We carried on shopping at other shops. There are quite a number of branded shops like Adidas, Converse, etc... We also saw another shop that had the Singapore feel, Uniqlo! Immediately, we went in and think about ourselves in Singapore as we had left Singapore for more than 1 week and missed our homeland, friends and family. The prices there are quite similar to Singapore where a shirt cost $100 RMB which is equivalent to the Uniqlo in Singapore at the price of S$20. There are also shops like Macdonalds and Starbucks there where we get to eat what we usually eat in Singapore! However, as we did not bring much money, we did not get to buy as we are afraid that the money cannot last till 7 April. We must learnt to have self control and buy only necessities first then luxury items. At the town, I found a disc shop selling movies! I went to have a look and to my amazement, they have the newest movie that is currently screened in Singapore, The Hobbit, at only $30 RMB! Immediately, I purchased it together with another movie as it is cheap when convert to SGD!(S$6)

When we came back to our hostel, we continued our project and finally done both presentation and video with subtitles! Mission accomplished! After that we watched one of the movie that I purchased! As everyone is worried about results which will release the next day, we decided to watch the comedy show to laugh it off first! It is a comedy movie and everyone laughed despite the fact that results will be out the next day. It helps us to release our stress and anxiety and to distract us from the thoughts of exam results! I just hope that I am able to achieve a score that can enter to local university as I do not wish to travel overseas to increase the burden of my parents.
